C print
A c-type print, such as Ektachrome, is a colour print in which the print material has at least three emulsion layers of light sensitive silver salts. Each layer is sensitized to a different primary colour - either red, blue or green - and so records different information about the colour make-up of the image. During printing, chemicals are added which form dyes of the appropriate colour in the emulsion layers. It is the most common type of colour photograph.
contact sheet
A contact print is a photographic image produced from film, usually a negative, occasionally from a film positive. Since this process produces neither enlargement nor reduction, the image on the paper print is exactly the same size as the image on the negative. Contact prints are used to produce proof sheets from entire rolls of 35mm negative, and 120, to aid in the selection of images for further enlargement, and to aid in cataloging and identification.
copy negative
a negative produced from an original not necessarily the same size (4x5 to 16x20) - reversed tone image
copy prints
Photographic prints produced by photographing a two-dimensional work, such as a drawing or painting, or by re-photographing another photograph.
